Neil Thompson paints in pastel and aqueous media. His current interest is the landscape set in a number of favorite locations including Southwest mountains and deserts, coastal
California
, and areas along the
Delaware River
.
Neil was first introduced to painting in studio classes at age twelve and art became a lifelong interest. During the eighties and nineties, after studying with Richard Kaiser and Robert Heyer, he focused on watercolors. In 2004 Neil took a Pastel workshop with Albert Handell in
Taos
and now concentrates on this medium.
Neil has a BA in Art from
Thomas
Edison
College
. In addition to painting, he has pursued a career in Industrial and Graphic Design. Affiliations include Artsbridge, the Hunterdon Museum of Art, and the Pastel Society of New Jersey.
His work is included in many private collections and has been shown at a number of venues including the Coryell Gallery, Stony Brook Gallery, Family Framers Gallery, Just Around the Corner Gallery, Harrison Street Gallery, Berlex Laboratories Gallery, and municipal galleries in Plainsboro and Monroe Township, NJ.
